This update significantly expands DeepDefend's capabilities and improves its reliability. Key changes include:

  • New Attacks: Momentum Iterative Method (MIM), Elastic Net Attack (EAD), and text-based attacks (Word Swap, Char Swap).
  • New Defenses: Pixel Deflection, Gaussian Blur, Total Variation Minimization, Median Smoothing, and Word Masking.
  • Bug Fixes: Resolved logical errors in feature_denoising (now performs actual denoising) and improved feature_squeezing.
  • Architectural Improvements: Defenses now use Keras Layer/Model subclassing, making them compatible with model.fit() and standard training pipelines.
  • Enhanced Documentation: The README now includes a detailed support table for Image, Text, Numeric, and Classification models, along with updated usage examples and a documentation link.
  • Compatibility: Improved handling of numeric and text data (embeddings) in gradient-based attacks.

…proved docs.

- Added MIM, EAD, Word Swap, and Char Swap attacks.
- Added Pixel Deflection, Gaussian Blur, TV Minimization, Word Masking, and Median Smoothing defenses.
- Fixed logical errors in existing defenses (feature_denoising, feature_squeezing, etc.).
- Refactored defenses into Keras Layers/Models for better training compatibility.
- Updated README.md with a model support table and documentation link.
- Ensured numeric and text support across the library.
